Renaissance launch with KING UNIQUE - Fri 9 May Edinburgh
May 1st, 2008 by Tom Donohue
Cab is delighted to host Renaissance's new Scottish residency, and looks forward to hosting the events on an alternate monthly basis, six times a year. For the launch night, the guests of honour will be King Unique.
King Unique are two Matts - Matthew Roberts and Matt "Watkins" Thomas. A pair of self-confessed studio junkies, they have a taste for bulldozer beats and sick synthesizers, and they use them with devastating effect to create rough-edged dirty house music. Their decks'n'fx DJ sets have made them regulars in some of the world's most respected clubs and biggest festivals, while the King Unique Broadcast radio mix series regularly airs to countries across the globe.
Also on the decks at the opening night party will be Neil Bartley of Musika and Afterdark infamy, and Cab's old mate Nick Yuill, a co-founder and resident DJ of the still-missed Solescience. Completing the line-up will be Renaissance resident Euan McKenzie.
